Max and Sawyer have both been fighting colds this week. Thankfully, the worst is over and now it's just snotty noses and little coughs.
The last few days have been Trying with a capital T! Between fits, being stuck inside, and little sleep, we've all had a rough week. But tonight was a mood-lifter for sure! My parents, being the wonderful grandparents that they are, took Max for a couple hours and I went shopping with a friend. Sawyer came along with us and was a very good boy! I'm hoping a decent nights sleep will be the cherry on top of my nice evening.
Even when days are rough, my boys are blessings. I wouldn't trade cleaning up their snot-smeared faces for anything. :)

Max has a nasty cold. Poor kid. After he sneezed there was green stuff hanging from his nose and he said, "Mushash!" His humor was endearing :)

Another quick Max story...

Over the weekend we were at the park for Relay for Life. There were lots of dogs out there and Max wanted to pet one. My mom told him he needs to ask first. So he bends down to the dog and asks, "I pet you?" :)

It's official. I cannot run the Half-Marathon that I have been planning on running for 6 months now. Last week I injured my knee while attempting to run 10 miles. It hurt to go up stairs or even walk sometimes. I was hoping resting for a week whould heal it. But after running a mile this morning, I knew I wouldn't be able to run 12 more. It's disappointing for sure, but I'm hoping to make lemonade out of these lemons! Lukas may train for a Half. It would be so exciting to run a race with him! Also, one of my good friends is getting into running now so we've talked about racing together. We'll see what happens. But for now God is telling me to wait, so wait I shall! ;)

I had a wonderful Mother's Day! I spent it with my Mom and with the two boys that made me a mother.

As I thought about being a Mom my mind scattered. What it means to be a Mom, what my responsibilities are, how to manage the guilt that all moms feel, what God commands a mother to be, how to show my boys love, and the list goes on...

One thing I really desire is for my children to call me blessed - just like Proverbs 31:28 says..."her children arise and call her blessed." I WANT THAT! I don't want to squander this life away, finding things to do that are counter-productive to what God wants me to do and be. Being a mother is a ministry and with God's help, I hope to do it well for his glory.

This past weekend my brother Josh, his wife, Gretchen, and their daughter Susie came to visit! I was so glad to see them because it had been since Christmas! Susie and Sawyer are birthday buddies. They were born just 2 days apart. In a few weeks they're having a co-party too :)

All five grandchildren were together and although at times it was hectic, it was totally fun! Here are some pics...

I had to post this one! Brenna was SUPPOSED to be napping but didn't want to miss out on any fun. Her little head poking out of the room was so funny!


Max had a ball playing in the pond. The water was freezing but he didn't mind. There were hundreds of tadpoles so he and Uncle Josh had fun with them!


It wouldn't be a complete weekend unless he dipped cookies with Papa.

Happy Birthday to Josh!

Sawyer took his first steps this evening!! I'm thrilled for him! That boy has been on the move for several weeks now. I think it's safe to say that he is going to skip crawling. His scooching has left his right leg callused!

So here's how it went down... My mom and I were sitting on the floor with him and he walked from her to me! Probably 2 or 3 steps! Then after a few tries, he took another few steps! It was so exciting! Maybe my prediction of him full out walking by his first birthday will be accurate.

Later we were on skype with Matt & Jill so Sawyer wanted to show off...



Sawyer walking was the cherry on top to this day! Lukas was home and we played outside the majority of the day. The boys both took good naps and Ma and Papa came over this evening! Great day - thank you, Lord!

Max had another "Oh, David!" moment. Although, I do not believe he can blame this one on David because it is NOT in the book! :) He went in to use the restroom and came out with soaking wet undies in his hand! I asked him what happened and he said, "Undies potty....bath tub!" Yeah right! He dunked his undies in the pee water and then put them in the tub! Then decided to bring them to me....dripping pee water. Niiiiice! He was hilarious telling the story though :) My funny boy...

Here's a Sawyer story for ya! He is drawn to the outlet in Max's room. It sometimes has a nightlight plugged in, but either way he is always scooching towards that outlet! I let him know to not do it by saying, "Ah, ah, ah, Sawyer." So yesterday he scooched over there and was saying "Ah ah ah ah ah.." :) He knew better!

This is a book that Max likes to read. In the book the character David does things that leave his mother saying, "Oh, David!" One of the things David does is unroll the toilet paper roll.

Yesterday Max came out of the bathroom and told me he played with the toilet paper. I knew what he meant - he had unrolled it. I asked him if he played with a lot of it and he said yes. I must have given him an exhausted look because he thought for a second, got a disappointed look on his face, and then said....."Oh, David."

This is Muno from Yo Gabba Gabba, one of the boys favorite shows on Nick Jr. Max must have just noticed that Muno only has one eye because while watching it today he said, "Where his eye doe? Where his udder one doe? Tind it." **

I got a laugh out of that :)

**For those of you who do not speak Toddler, he said "Where did his eye go? Where did his other one go? Find it."

I love to watch my boys interact!

This video was taken last night. They were just so cute after their baths that I decided to procrastinate on putting them to bed. So they ate some Puffs and had some fun on the couch.
