I'm thrilled this evening! Sawyer stayed in the babysitting room at the YMCA HAPPILY!! The women in there usually have to sing to him the whole time I'm exercising or they end up bringing him to me. But tonight he didn't cry at all! Yay, Sawyer! Maybe he'll get over the separation anxiety just in time for Mommy and Daddy's vacation.

Lukas and I started packing tonight. We're pretty light packers, thank goodness. I loathe dragging bags through the airport. Pray for a safe flight for us. I am particularly anxious about this flight for some reason.

I'm going to try to blog before we leave but if not, I will talk to you in March!! :)

We had a wonderful weekend! My good friend from college, Karla, came to visit from Indianapolis. We chatted just as comfortably as we did back at good ol' MBBC. We also decorated a Valentine cake for our husbands. Here's a pic of our fondant-covered chocolate cakes..

In Totey Development....
He's really wants to move! From a sitting position he can turn himself all around and throws himself onto his belly. But from there he doesn't know how to get up on his knees yet. Soon, I'm sure.

Hannah Montana Cake

Well, I have my first order under my belt! This was definitely a learning experience. There are some things I would tweak if I were to do it over again. For example, making the white fondant piece bigger, frosting the neck and base of the guitar before they were put together, and I need to practice my straight lines. I'm glad to have had the chance to practice.

It has been a nice week so far! Lukas has had a few days off so we've enjoyed being snowed in together. Right now the boys are napping and Lukas is at a meeting so I should be busy around the house. But first I'm going to upload some pictures for you :)

Before bedtime last night. Max asked me if Sawyer could sleep with him. :)

Totey wanted to claim his seat in the new van.

Max is really into vroom vrooms. He makes his toys do the same stunts that he sees in the videos on youtube. I told Max that when the drivers stand up on their motorcycles, their mommys get mad and tell them "no,no,no! sit down!" :) Thanks to Uncle Jake, Max knows about a hayabusa and can say it very clearly! (It's the fastest motorcycle, I think.)

Sawyer got an oil shampoo so his hair looked styled for a few days. Cracked me up!

Nemo On Ice

My sister, her two friends, and I have been planning on taking the kids to Nemo on Ice for weeks now. And even though it was a Level 3 outside, we went anyway! As I started my drive through literally FEET of snow, I was doubting if the show was worth the long drive. But after seeing Max and Brenna absolutely LIGHT UP, I know it was totally worth it. They loved it! Brenna was jumping on Melissa's lap and Max's jaw dropped every time a new animal came out. Kids make everything cooler.

"Hi, ugly people. Hi, ugly people. Where'd the animals go? Bye, ugly people. Hi, clown! Hi, clown! Where'd the animals go? I see Nemo. Bye, clown!"

*He's not being mean when he says "ugly people". Instead of telling him that things/characters/people are SCARY, we say they're ugly. I hate using the word "scary".

"Hi, Little Bill. Where'd the animals go? I see Nemo. Bye, Little Bill."

Max was talking to Nemo on the phone. He said, "touch boat" because he remembered when Nemo touched the boat and wasn't supposed to.

I'm feeling a little guilty. Actually, very guilty.
This is the second time in a row that Sawyer has been sad when I picked him up from the YMCA's babysitting room. I just leave him in there (with Max) for about 45 minutes and when I pick him up he has the biggest poochy lip and tears I've ever seen! When he sees me he melts down and leans right for me. The babysitters say, "he just got sad." Or, "he missed you, I think."
In two weeks we're planning on leaving him with my parents for 8 days while we go on vacation. HOW can I do that?! WHAT was I thinking?! Without a doubt we will have a blast on our trip but I want this to be our last kid-free vaca! (Atleast for the next 20 years.)
