You know what's funny? Sawyer walking around in Max's boots and gloves when it's 74 degrees in the house. He wouldn't let me take them off for an hour! Finally, when he got thirsty enough and couldn't hold his cup, he took them off.

You know what's funnier? Sawyer holding up his fist and saying, "I oughta....!" I'll get it on video soon to show you :)

You know what is the funniest? Sawyer and Max tumbling around the couch, not hurting each other, but just rolling around in a big pile. The laughs were GREAT! They did that for about 15 minutes. Part way through Max said through a laugh, "I love you, Sawyer." :))

While I'm talking about my boys, I can't forget my man! All day as I was making the Wubbzy cake he was encouraging me and saying, "that's cute!" :)) He is always my biggest fan when it comes to cakes! I really appreciate that about him. I know that the cakes are just regular amateur style, but he doesn't think so. Love him!

Shark Stories

It was Lukas' turn to tell Max a shark story before bedtime tonight. I'm getting low on creativity with shark stories but Lukas on the other hand, keeps getting funnier! As I was getting Sawyer ready for bed, I listened in. Lukas started with, "Once upon a time there was a shark named Stinker." He could've stopped right there because Max LOST it! Belly laughing, he tried to repeat the line and couldn't! There's nothing funnier to a 3 year old boy than bodily functions. I thought the end was funnier though...."Stinker was truly a stinker that day..."

Today I made a Wow Wow Wubbzy cake for a little girl's 2nd birthday. Here's how it turned out:

I look at it through a very critical eye, but I hope that the mom and the little girl are happy with it! Wubbzy always plays with a little blue ball, so that is what's on top of the grass cupcakes. He also really likes shapes, therefor the circle on top of the square cupcakes. Another one under my belt....many lessons learned!

Max luh-luh-loves fondant. He begs me for a taste of the fondant the whole time I'm baking and decorating. So at the end of each cake, once I know what leftovers I have, I whip him up a little cake. This one took about 4 minutes and he couldn't have been happier. He didn't even blink at the fact that the shark is pink ;)

Lukas needed some peace and quiet to read his homework, but it wasn't too long before Max found him and wanted to join in. It was so cute when I peeked in our bedroom and Max was sitting very still and very quiet flipping through a book. He was in there for a long time, just doing what his daddy was doing :)

We made a quick trip to the Chicago area so Lukas could watch the Packers WIN the Superbowl with his brother and dad.

Last weekend the Neisler clan was all together for the first time since October! Poor Brenna was sick so we only got to see her for a short time. Here is Lukas with our nephew, Graham. Lukas kept stealing him from me! :)

I couldn't get the picture to upload on here, but prior to this Max sat down at this table all by himself, laid his head down, and looked super sad. When we noticed him, we asked what was wrong. He said he was sad because he wanted Brenna to sit there with him. SAD! He was super bummed.

These birthday buddies may or may not like to watch movies. We had the bumbo seats out for Graham but the older babies thought they made perfect movie chairs :)

I probably should update you on my day. It turned around! Praise God! I was able to get all of my To Do list accomplished and then some! After meditating on 1 Peter chapter 1, the trials of my morning seem SO SMALL! Now it's onward and upward to this busy, wonderful, exciting week! First up....Max and Sawyer's Valentine's Party with a few of their friends. Pictures to come!

Waking up this morning, I was excited! Ready for this FUN week to begin! Almost everyday this week there is something wonderful on the calendar. And I guess Satan noticed. In just a few hours he pulled out the stops and used miscommunication, forgetfulness, hurt and discontent children, and hurtful words to attack me.  Thankfully I know God's promises are true and he says that when we meditate upon his Word we will be happy and fruitful. I don't want this whole day - that he has given me - to go to waste. So I turned to the Bible and found myself reading I Peter 1. What a mood-lifter. He says we WILL go through trials but we need to come out the other end giving praise and glory to Him. There is an UNFADING inheritance in heaven waiting for me. I'm going to meditate on that the rest of the day. And if the trials keep coming (I have a lot to accomplish this afternoon) then I will stop....and intentionally read his Word again.

Snow Fun

Daddy provided some entertainment this morning. He blew some snow at the window the boys were looking out. They jumped, screamed, and laughed! Then we opened the window and let some of the snow inside for a little more fun!

My dad was generous enough to give up his Saturday and put some studs up in our basement for the walls. Max played with the extra wood and his saw down there very happily for about a half hour. He came upstairs and declared to me, "Come on, Mommy! I have a surprise for the Hafeli family!!" I went downstairs and this is what he had done. He laid the board down on the floor, sawed it in half and then lined them up on end. He told me he was not pretending and that I needed to stay back because his saw was sharp. Crack.Me.Up.

Friends and family! The boys are changing so much lately, I feel like I have to blog! I don't want you to miss the stories of their everyday lives. A couple short stories...

Max watches a cartoon called "Little Bear." Little Bear is usually outside with his friends: Duck, Cat, and Owl. In one episode they all went exploring and ended in a cave. So yesterday we turned out all the lights and went "exploring" into all our rooms with flashlights. Max got a little spooked at times but talked himself out of being scared by saying he found "friendly" animals. Knowing that Max is a thinker, I figured after I put him to bed last night he would consider exploring in the dark and get scared. Sure enough, he got up and told me he didn't want the lion and monster (hooded towels) in his room. Haha! Poor kid!

Max told me this morning he wanted to watch "Pop-puh-pie." Can you understand that? C'mon, it's clear as day..Popeye! :) I DVR'd a few episodes yesterday and he loved it. I had forgotten how much more violent cartoons were back then compared to today. I have yet to see Brobee punch Plex on Yo Gabba Gabba.

Sawyer's new word is "turtle". My mom had a turtle on her necklace and she told him what it was. His lips get pointy and he says, "too-toool". "Brother" is another one of his cute words. He's starting to talk a lot more!

Sawyer has turned into a morning boy! He wakes up with big smiles and cute laughs! Even at 6:15 this morning :)
